“Maybe you are searching among the branches for what only appears in your roots.”

– Rumi

If you find yourself here with digestive disorders, infertility, auto-immune, thyroid issues, hormonal imbalances, brain fog, skin eruptions, low to No energy… you’re in the right place.

These are the inflammatory symptoms of today.

Don’t worry..when you start to take a look at the roots of the complex chronic illness epidemic we are in, it starts to make sense.

Your Body is Having a Logical Response to Being poisoned.

We are exposed to over 1,000,000 toxic particles daily, and the load has been growing.  What was 10 toxins per cell in 2008 climbed to 500 per cell in 2018.  This is significant!  Toxins can reduce your IQ, steal your energy, inhibit brain function, impair your body’s ability to heal or create new life.  Babies are now being born with upwards of 200 chemical toxicants from day one.

I simply refuse to accept this fate for myself, and for my community of on-purpose, heart-forward leaders.

I know with all of my being, that you have inside of you a perfect design for health – and that you can recoup this integral Aliveness;  for your family, for your business, your purpose, and your Self.  You came here to make a difference in this world, and you deserve to feel like you can.

My name is Hanna Nicole,

and I specialize in resolving the root causes behind complex chronic illness, infertility, and digestive disorders. I’m here to help you heal and take back your power so you can sit in the driver’s seat of your own life.

“Being in Hanna’s care is the most enlivening upgrade for your whole body, mind, and soul.  She is a wellspring of essential knowledge that can bring brightness back into your life in the most delicious ways.  I have no doubt you will enjoy working with her!”

My personal journey resolving chronic illness

I spent most of my life with chronic gut pain, constipation, bloating and other digestive disorders.  By the end of my teenage years I had an inflamed liver, and hormonal imbalances expressed as severe cycle dysregulation and pain that ended me in the emergency room on multiple occasions.   It wasn’t until further on in my years of study that I came to realize that these were mostly toxin-induced symptoms.

My particular mix of symptoms included;

  • Significant brain fog
  • Moodiness
  • Edema
  • Intense body odor
  • Chronic Strep Throat and UTI’s
  • Shooting pain in my liver that kept me from running for most of my highschool years
  • Joint pain
  • Disproportionate reactions to frustrating experiences
  • Eating disorders and persistent cravings
  • Chronic constipation
  • Feeling at risk and fragile
  • And often utterly exhausted, needing multiple naps in a day.

While my body was clearly expressing dysfunction, it wasn’t always clear to me.  I was young and could push through quite a lot of “suffering”.   At other times I was doing my best to ignore the symptoms or at least hide them from people.  Not only were these symptoms depleting, but keeping up the facade that I was feeling well was absolutely exhausting, and consumed much of my creative output.

In my experience, this expression of illness doesn’t happen overnight, and it didn’t for me.  It was a slow process that crept up over time, and also changed over time – my body expressed itself in new ways as it adapted to accommodate the lack of necessary support.   I began to experience relief from some of my symptoms as I explored ancient practices of medicine and movement along my path, but it wasn’t until I took a root cause approach that things really started to shift for me.

I was in my 20’s when I began to look under the hood a bit more.  Why are people unwell in the first place?  What is at the root of the chronic disease epidemic we are in right now?  These are the questions that I was asking myself, and that were missing from most (not all) conversations in the wellness community.

Even functional and naturopathic doctors were practicing “symptom care” , only with less invasive tactics like herbs, IV therapy and homeopathics.  It was a small few practitioners who were taking an important look further upstream, and exploring the inciting events/toxins/exposures that were at the root of my symptoms.

As my own health tranformed, my work began to take on a new shape. I was now supporting people to identify their root causes, and clean up years of toxic burden.  Watching downstream symptoms disappear, my clients returned to their inherent state of flow and harmony.  Today, clients often find me after a harrowing journey through narrow minded support systems, more ready than ever to  leave their diagnosis behind and expand into a broader perspective for self healing.  Maybe you can relate?

I was already steeped in my own health journey and the study of root cause medicine when my father died after battling an autoimmune disease for 5 years.   It is with a sincere appreciation for life, and a true respect for an inevitable death, that I offer what I have learned to those who wish to lead a full life free from unnecessary burden.  This work is not about avoiding death, but awakening the life force energy from within to enhance your potential here in this lifetime.

Most importantly, what I have come to know with every fiber of my being, is that there is no flaw in our design.  It’s not that we have “bad genes” or are somehow “broken”.  We have everything we need inside of us to repair, recover, and renew.   Healing is simply a matter of removing what we have inherited along the way that doesn’t conduct a vibrant evolution of the self!

The healing I’m talking about doesn’t come overnight.

It doesn’t come from overriding the body and “pushing” yourself to heal faster.

Healing occurs when we listen to the wisdom of the body FIRST.

When we listen for the pace of our Aliveness, our body blossoms towards healing.

Detoxing is not an event, it’s a lifestyle.

While the reductionist approaches of allopathic medicine really shines in emergent cases, it falls short in lasting repair or sustainable solutions.  There are even some naturopaths, functional medicine practitioners, acupuncturists, and chiropractors that are still trying to address symptoms without looking deeper at real root causes.  Maybe you can relate to weeks, months, or even years of investing in expensive blood tests that point to 30 different markers…and you walk home with 30 different supplements for those markers — and still aren’t seeing the results you want.

If this is you, you’re in the right spot!

Or perhaps you’ve been given the run-around from allopathic doctors because they don’t actually KNOW what’s going on, because they don’t test for most root causes, nor are they trained to look for them…

Perhaps you have been given a diagnosis, and are looking for alternative solutions to the limited ones you’ve been offered.

I want you to know that there are more options available to you.

It can be difficult to feel like you’re on the back foot with your health, or have been for some time and are exhausted from trying to “sort it out”.  I just want you to know that…

You can absolutely heal

You just need to find the right support.

In this work I feel that just one therapy style or modality is often not enough.  We are muti-faceted beings, and we require a multi-faceted approach for healing.  Not just biochemical, we are also bioelectrical and supporting our nervous systems is just as important if we are going to see real change and healing occur.

It is important to realize that each method of healing has its strengths and limitations.  There is a time and a place for different therapies to shine and get you closer to your health goals.  Working with a practitioner who can weave diverse therapies in right timing is something I feel is key to moving the needle on your chronic symptoms.   Not to mention, choosing therapies that work together to strengthen and empower the other.

The different therapeutic approaches I bring

In my 1 on 1 work I take a spherical approach, including the therapeutic models of; Qigong, Breathwork, Biochemical protocols, 5-Element theory, Biomimicry, Food-Based Healing, Nervous system support technologies, Symbolic Modeling, as well as the ancient and practical principles of Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. This expression of my work is over 20 years in the making.

Qigong

Learn more

Qigong is an ancient Chinese movement practice used to cultivate Qi, and dispel stagnant energy in the body that leads to disease.  It combines slow movements with specific breath techniques to increase blood flow and oxygenate the blood.  Qigong increases our connection to the Earth, our bodies, our spirit, our energy, and our power.  This practice is as much physical as it is mental..or intentional.  Qigong is the practice of honing one’s ability to focus the mind and distribute energy in the body for healing.   This easeful, joy-inducing practice is growing in the Western eye, as more and more people experience the overwhelming  longevity and mental health benefits.  I was introduced to Qigong when I was 18;  it was a perfect segway from the Korean Martial Arts I had been studying for 3 years.  This encounter opened the door for me to study and apprentice for the next ten years in China and the US with different masters and lineages of China’s most ancient technologies.  Six of those years were spent touring and teaching these ancient practices to thousands of people across the United States.   These are practices and awareness that deeply inform how and what I offer in my healing work.

Food-Based Healing

Learn more

The principles of Food-Based Healing are simple.  Just like there are ways to distract or aggravate the body with food, there are also ways in which you can support the body’s capacity for healing with food.  There are specific foods that can even help to reverse specific diseases.  These  healing foods can activate, balance, nourish and support organs, major systems, and even basic mechanics in the body.  Many ancient and modern indigenous cultures make herbs and food a pillar of their therapeutic approach, including Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda.  My study of food as medicine has spanned across the last 20 years of my life and expressed itself through books, recipes, educational tours, and alas a 10 year journey of private chef work for those looking to elevate their state.  Food has been my love language since I was a child – and while it isn’t the only answer to people’s distress in modern times – it does inevitably play a major part in how health is expressed, or not.

5 Element Theory

Learn more

5 Element theory is a central part of Traditional Chinese Medicine that dates back centuries.  The theory is rooted in ancient cosmology and based on the notion that different forces weave and interact in nature to create balance and harmony.  The 5 elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.  These concepts of natural law and universal order are built on the idea that the 5 elements are interconnected and relate to, or reflect, all of life, including our human bodies and psyches.   One cannot study qigong, chinese medicine, or even walk the earth without brushing endlessly with the wisdom mapped in this system.  It is an intuitive lens through which I connect with my clients to restore balance in their bodies and lives.

Biomimicry

Learn more

‘Bio’ means living organism, and ‘mimicry’ means to imitate, thus to imitate life and nature.  I have found this to be one of the most important steps to healing.  Why?  Because we are nature, and we (just like the natural world) have a perfect blueprint for health.  To practice biomimicry, is to observe, learn from, and emulate the natural processes, rhythms and ecosystems of life.  As we are designed to.  Living by your design is the quickest way to your greatest expression of aliveness.

In each moment with Hanna you are given an opportunity for healing and awakening.  Her brilliance and genius is astounding, and her influence will last a lifetime.  I can’t recommend her enough!!!

A little bit about my journey, or..Root to Rise

If you had asked me when I was a youth what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have said it was a toss up between an actress and a monk.

I grew up homeschooled in the countryside, spending every possible minute of the day outside “meditating” or indoors drafting theatrical performances for my parents and whoever would watch; including contractors, plumbers, and mailmen.  When I was outside, I was alone with myself, but also never alone.  I was with the trees, and the earth, and the plants, and animals, and bugs, and streams, and clouds.  They were all my company.  They were all my teachers.

I was raised by my mother, and the wild.

My mother was both a yoga instructor and practicing homebirth midwife in our small southern community, teaching much more than mindfulness.  She empowered her community and clients with a deep trust in their bodies and innate wisdom.  It was this woman’s perseverance to advocate for women’s right to a natural home birth in the face of much adversity, that greatly shaped my work today –  advocating for the rise of empowered, Root Cause Solutions, and the end of suppressive, pharmaceutical-driven “band-aids” and reductionist thinking.

After many of my younger years were spent practicing yoga with mom, I began studying Korean martial arts when I turned 15, and this really changed my life.  For the first time I felt energy between my hands, and understood myself to be full of light and infinite potential.  A few years later I stumbled upon a Qigong seminar that anchored me on a path towards Chinese Medicine, Food-Based Healing, 5-Element Theory, Sacred Geometry, and other ancient and indigenous healing disciplines for the next eleven years.   I trained with different Masters in the United States, China, Mexico and Africa.  During that time, I toured the U.S. presenting these principles to thousands of people.  I found that while the ancient energy practices of qigong were deeply resonant and important, my hunger to keep learning carried me into the therapeutic realms of root-cause medicine, biochemistry, bioelectricity, functional and foundational principles and study.

This is where I began to see people’s health pictures really shine through.

While I was loved,  influenced and inspired by my mother, I was truly and deeply raised by the Wild.     I spent the majority of my childhood outside, roaming the forests, valleys, watersheds, swimming in the ocean, following wildlife corridors and coming in contact with all different expressions of the natural world.  This was (and is) my home, and ultimate place of serenity.  You could often find me asleep in a tree, or on the ground, or covered in dirt from my explorations in the forest…where time never existed.  It actually took me years beyond my peers to read a clock.  Not because I couldn’t, so much as my greatest Aliveness existed inside of timelessness.

Now, don’t get me wrong – I don’t think moving into a cave, throwing out your clocks, and living off the morning dew is the only solution for healing.. Unless you’re into that kind of thing.

There is a middle way.

A place where a comfortable 21st century life indoors, and the natural rhythms of the world outside can meet.  It takes both ancient traditions and modern technologies to see results in my experience.
